Moonthly Letter XIV: The spaciousness to be all of you
Reflecting on January's experimentations with Human Design and Breathwork sessions + this month's delights
Hi, how are you? How’s your body, mind, and soul?
I must admit that January turned out to be a busy month. It wasn’t something I had planned mentally, rather, it happened out of my body responses. At the end of December, I said no to Instagram which seemed to open up all this space to devote time and energy to things I actually wanted to do, things that set my soul on fire.
Yep, you guessed it: Human Design and Breathwork.
I knew I wanted to play with these two modalities together because I’d seen the effects it had on my self through my own personal explorations last year. I remember having no end of realizations and insights flooding in through my breathwork sessions, things I’d been struggling mentally with started to make bodily sense.
Breath allowed me to truly start cultivating my own sacred pace.
Breath allowed me to start marching to the beat of my own drum.
Breath allowed me to connect to my self at a very deep level.
And that is what I’ve seen in these play sessions I’ve been holding.
I’ve witnessed people experience their life force for the first time in a long time.
I’ve witnessed people experiencing a sense of connection to themselves that they didn’t realise was even possible.
I’ve witnessed them finally hear a deeper part of themselves through all the noise.
I’ve witnessed them experience a deep sense of presence and trust in the present moment.
I’ve witnessed them revel in the spaciousness where they give themselves permission to be all of them, all at once. And perhaps start bringing all these parts out into the world a bit more.
THAT. IS. MAGICAL!
That is powerful and empowering.
That is exactly what I imagined for these sessions. But I needed to see it for myself. I needed to see its power through others. And let me tell you - the power is real.
And I’m not talking about power over. I am talking about this gentle, bold, and real power that can only emerge from the depths of our souls. The kind of power that cultivates a deep-rooted trust in our path. The kind of power that sees the interconnectedness of it all and trusts the wave we came in on.
We start to see the true possibilities of this physical form we are born into. We start to pay attention to the nudges within. We start to create space for things that set our souls on fire. We start to allow all the parts to come out and play and take up space. We start to detangle from the mind as our ruler. We start to see that the I within us is the observer. We start to see all the ways we’ve suppressed that I and go along with this game that is our modern life.
Eckhart Tolle writes in his book A New Earth:
“A new heaven is the emergence of a transformed state of consciousness, and a new earth is its reflection in the physical realm.”
For us to bring heaven on earth, we have to transform our state of consciousness. We have to differentiate between the unobserved mind and the I who is the observer. We have to see beyond the contents of our mind and the awareness in the background.
And that is where Human Design can be of use to us. I know it is for me and so many others.
It is through the lens of Human Design we can start to separate our egoic self from our essence, our physical and psychological form from our inner essence. And it is not that the ego is the bad guy here. It is the separation that the ego creates - us versus them, me versus you, body versus mind. Human Design can start to show us the way our life is being led by our ego, only, by the various ways we separate ourselves from each other and this world in an unhealthy way.
But we have to be mindful of not falling into another trap, another box we need to try to fit into.
Human Design can very easily become just another belief system. It can limit us in all the wrong ways. I spoke about the limitations that are liberating but I’d like to add here that in order for these limitations to become liberating, we have to detach ourselves from who we think we should be. If we are not careful, if we are seeking external answers for our inner dilemmas, we can very easily fall into the trap that Human Design can be.
We start to go against our true nature because a system tells us how we should be operating. We start to seek answers from within the system rather than our own being. We give away our true power to a system that we think should tell us who we are and what we are here for.
Oh, our beautiful mind sure loves to rack its brains around our purpose.
What if our purpose here on earth is to simply be with all that life throws at us?
What if our purpose is not this grandiose thing that we imagine to be, that we want it to be?
What if we fulfill our purpose by simply being ourselves?
So how does one get to that, that self that is simply being our selves?
I think Human Design can be that crack where our selves can start to emerge more fully, especially when synthesized with Breathwork.
I don’t think Human Desing is here to be taken too seriously BUT it can open up contemplations that can then lead us down our path. It can take us beyond our physical form, beyond our mental being, and connect us to our true essence, our pure consciousness.
Its true power is in the ability to rewild our human being.
Its true power is the ability to unite our bodies, minds, and souls.
Its true power is the ability to witness the beauty that each of us brings to this world.
And that process of rewilding is not easy because we are having a very human experience here on earth. We have physical and psychological needs that we need to meet to survive. We have systems we’ve grown up in that have taught us to be a certain way or act a certain way. The culture we live in is so deep-rooted. It will take time to truly see beyond it as a collective.
It is not just about surviving. Yet, so many of us are merely, even barely surviving. And I’d argue that the suffering comes from our unobserved minds. We are led by people who most probably live from their unobserved minds. Or perhaps it is all a game to them. A game of power and greed.
Individually, we perceive that the world needs to be a certain way and if it isn’t, we suffer, we complain, and we become the victim. And we remain in that state.
This is the state of disenchantment that Richard Tarnas talks about. It is the state of ignorance of our connectedness that Eckhart Tolle writes about. Buddhists call it dukkha. And the root of it all is our obsession with living life from our minds.
Which is why I am so passionate about Breathwork. It calls us into being in our bodies. It invites us to dive deep within and see the connectedness of all life. It invites us into being pure consciousness.
Personally, bliss is a state I’ve experienced in breathwork.
I remember one of my very earliest sessions where I felt one with everything. I saw the absurdity of this life we’ve created for ourselves. How meaningless and yet meaningful it all was, and is. How beautiful life truly is. I lay there crying and laughing at the same time - holding the duality of it all.
We are entering the Aquarian territory now as a collective. One thing I keep landing on with this big shift is the notion of individual empowerment which will ultimately become our collective empowerment. The way we awaken the collective consciousness is through individual awakening of our own consciousness.
When we commit to the unique expression of our consciousness,
we are coming into the sacred union of our body, mind, and soul.
When we commit to the expression of our uniqueness,
we are liberating ourselves through our limitations.
Our Cosmic Limits allow us to express our uniqueness
and trust the wave that we came in on.
We all have a part to play in the Cosmic Whole.
I am so excited for the beings that are already constellating to the Aquarian New Moon circle. I can’t wait to explore your big vision dreaming with you. I can’t wait to see what will emerge from the portal of your breath.
If you haven’t yet signed up but feel called to be part of this potent circle, you can do so through this link.
We gather on Friday 9 February at 6 PM UK time for about 2 hours.
May we gather and breathe into the world we want to live in.
May we gather and breathe into the remembering of our untrodden path.
May we gather and breathe into the big dreams we are holding.
May the power of our own breath show us the way.
May the power of our own breath reveal the path ahead.
May the power of our own breath be the soothing salve this world needs.
*This has got to be THE BEST SCREAM in movie history. I love a good prank video!
*I’ve been pondering a lot on embodied presence that I picked up from this conversation between Jo Miller and Britten LaRue. As someone who holds space for others, I feel it is so important to practice felt sense in my own body, to feel grounded in my own being. Personally, it is about noticing my own activation and allowing it to move through my body rather than it starting to guide my presence.
*This conversation on Chiron was so enlightening.
*These Saturday morning community breathwork sessions facilitated by Steph Magenta. Steph is a breathworker I admire a great deal. I love her integrity, honesty, compassion, and her directness. Plus, her music selection is so good.
*Learning more about I’Ching, gates, and Gene Keys through transits. I especially love the book of I-Ching: The Oracle of the Cosmic Way by Carol K. Anthony and Hanna Moog. It has been rather fun observing the world through the “programming” of Lines. I must say, my own data collection is definitely showing correlations between the different Line days. Plus, it adds an element of fun to my day job, seeing how the program plays out. It is definitely a fun way to see the connectedness between us and the cosmos. Whether it is truly so is irrelevant to me, really. Simply holding the possibilities of an interconnected web of life.
*This spontaneous photo shoot with my bhubhub [pronounced bubub].
Sending you a deep and nourishing breath,
