Sagittarius Full Moon: It is OK to repoint your arrow as many times as you need to
On resistance, reorientation, and messiness + a meandering through a Jupiter cycle
Hello fellow creative wanderer,
My astro teacher talks about aliveness. So, I’m curious, what’s alive for you under this Sagittarius Full Moon?
What feels truly alive in this present moment for me are the planetary cycles and how our natal charts are snapshots of the bigger collective cycles.
With that in mind, our natal charts are specific points within these cycles.
With that in mind, our natal charts are the imprintings of these points within our beings.
With that in mind, our natal charts are our individual instructions that only we are here to fulfill.
With that in mind, our natal charts are the instructions we are here to fulfill in service to the collective.
With that in mind, our natal charts offer us the role we are here to fulfill.
With that in mind, the planetary transits which create the planetary cycles, both collectively and individually, offer us a cyclical way to grow and expand and lean into the instructions our natal charts provide us.
One of such cycles that I’ve been exploring lately is the 12-year Jupiter cycle. With that said, what I’m realising is that each cycle does not act alone. Our lives are made up of multiple cycles that are playing out simultaneously at any given time.
So even though I’ve been focussing on my Jupiter cycles, what I’m realising is that the main turning points are simultaneously influenced by other cycles occurring at the same time. For example, my current Jupiter cycle began around December 2018. That is when the vision of a slow creative life was really born.
At the same time, I’ve discovered that a different cycle with very similar themes, was taking place. And that was the progressed Last Quarter Phase of my Moon. If this is making no sense to you, here’s the short version. All of this astrological talk comes down to two words: reevaluation and reorientation.
Just as the moons have phases from one cycle to another, our natal Moon also has its own cycles. We have the phase we were born in that plays its part in our daily lives. We have the moonthly cycle called a transit. And then we have what’s called progressions, which is really a symbolic timing tool. And just as each phase brings its own energetic to the moonthly cycle, so do the progressions. More widely, these energies are present with us through the shifting of the day into the night into the day again, and even through the shifting seasons. Below is an image I found in one of Demetra George’s books.
Back in 2018, at the end and the beginning of my current Jupiter cycle, I was in the midst of building a wellness business but doubt had slowly started to creep in. I was no longer truly lit up by it and instead just going through the motions. In all honesty, I was afraid to quit. I was afraid to quit because I did not want to let people down. I did not want to admit that this was no longer working for me. So I ploughed on for another couple of years, until I just could not ignore that growing frustration and resentment I was noticing. I was tired of the relentless hustle that was giving me no real satisfaction.
What I’m learning is that planetary cycles can be explored through a similar lens the lunar phases. We call them the planetary relationships. And as you may know, each planet moves at its own pace.
According to Rudhyar, and reiterated by Demetra George, the slower planet in the relationship signifies the shaping action whilst the faster planet shows how this action will be carried out. And, according to Rudhyar and Rael in their book on aspects, “a cycle of aspects between the two planets refers to a process whereby the functional activities represented by each planet grow and develop in co-operation with one another.”
I’m inserting a paywall here as the rest of it feels more vulnerable and private to share openly.
