I feel like it has been awhile since we last met. Lots has shifted since the Virgo notes. And I will make a voice note about it all.
I'm currently sitting in a bed in Stockholm, overlooking a quiet side street in Södermalm. We are on the last stretch of our train and ferry journey through Scandinavia. One more ferry ride to go before we reach our final destination, Estonia.
Stockholm is my old stomping ground. In a way, I grew up here, I became an independent adult.
It has been exactly twenty years since I left my home in Estonia, and first, moved to Sweden. This, in a way, is a sorta homecoming. It has felt very cathartic and healing for the soul, feeding the soul with beautiful nature walks, breathtaking sunsets, delicious food and lots and lots of spaciousness. This is what a slow creative life FEELS like to me.
Anyway, I'm writing to you today in anticipation of the Libra season, which also brings with it another personal solar return. This time of year always feels like a fresh start, maybe because of my Libra Sun.
I felt called to share this impromptu pondering the words of my teacher Lindsay Mack inspired.
She said that the leaves blow off the trees but the trees themselves remain.
These following words poured out of me. Hope they bring you comfort, solace, or whatever it is you need right now.
The trees remain.
Our core being, our centre.
Who we are behind all the labels that we give ourselves, that others give to us, always stays the same.
The leaves come and go. But the trunk, the branches, the roots remain. They grow. They expand. They go higher. They reach lower, deeper.
We become more of who we are in our core.
If we remember that through our tough times, through our confusions and frustrations, we can always come back to that place of calm, serenity, balance.
Maybe this is what the Libra season is here to teach us.
Libra as Cardinal Air.
Leaves changing. Leaves blowing away.
What remains is the tree, the trunk, the branches, the roots.
The tree remains
The tree remains
The tree remains
