Moonthly Letter XII: The year of uncomfortable growth
On visibility, self-doubt and leaning into self-trust with breath + announcing a few new ways to share space with me
Hello, fellow wanderer,
Is it just me or do years speed up the older we get?
This year I left my 30s behind. Goodness, the last 10 years definitely flew by but I am so beyond grateful to have made through them and in a deeper connection to who I am.
This year I welcomed in my 40s. I am so freaking excited for the new decade ahead. I say that whilst also acknowledging all the crazy stuff happening globally and choosing to hold them both as I breathe through. A realization emerged in a recent breathwork session that we can hold all the atrocities, the helplessness, the destruction AND we can choose to breathe out love.
Looking back, I thought my Saturn return was hard. These midlife transits have been a shift on a whole new level. Perhaps I’ll reflect more on that when the dust settles. I, Pluto, and Neptune have gotta get some distance between us first.
And with that big shift, I also feel like I am slowly leaving behind the self-limiting self-doubts that I’ve been grappling with my whole life. I spoke about that on the recent episode of Walking Each Other Home, a space I am slowly but surely falling in love with.
I will share with you another thing I am falling head over heels in love with. And that is holding space and guiding fellow wanderers through a sacred pause in the form of a breathwork session. I’m pretty sure my very first 1 on 1 session was more healing to me than I’d expected. It was a profound experience on so many levels. I had known the power of breath but not like that. Not whilst holding space for someone.
I had no idea my deep love for breath could create such a sacred space for another human being.
I had no idea my deep love for breath could grow even deeper.
I had no idea my deep love for breath could create a soul desire so nourishing to place myself in front of people…voluntarily…
And I kinda wanna keep doing it…
These sessions are a co-creation, a collaboration between the breathers and me. And the energy that’s created is something so sacred, so beautiful, so out-of-this-world that I’ve decided to open up my booking calendar early.
I’d love to invite you to breathe with me. Here are a couple of ways to do so.
Firstly, I am holding my very first online group breathwork circle for the Winter Solstice on the 22 December at 3 pm UK time. We will gather for an hour and a half.
I have decided to withdraw this offering.
Listen more on the process here.
I will guide us in and out of the space with a few group practices to honour the co-creative nature of it and the changing of the direction of the Sun. We’ll do conscious connected breathwork and take some time, in the end, to share in a circle whatever wants to be vocalized and witnessed under the newborn Capricorn Sun slowly starting its journey North here in the Northern Hemisphere on that very same day.
The word “solstice” comes from Latin meaning the “point at which the Sun seems to stand still.” Astronomically speaking, the solstice is a point when the Sun reaches either its most northerly or southerly point relative to the equator.
Isn’t it magical how even the Sun takes a sacred pause before it journeys on into the next season?
With this in mind, I am calling in fellow magical beings who would like to honour this moment by taking a sacred pause with the breath and each other, finding stillness in the hustle and bustle of this modern life we’re living.
I’ve opened 11 spots for this free online gathering. The link to book your spot is below. The session will not be recorded so please only sign up if you know you can attend live.
Come as you are and breathe with all of us into a future full of possibilities whilst honouring the still point of now.
I am also thrilled to announce that I am opening my books for some 1 on 1 breathwork sessions. December and January are at a very reduced rate as I am honouring the phase I am still in, and that is of being a facilitator-in-training. So if you’re curious or intrigued about conscious connected breathwork or simply want me to hold space for you as you breathe into whatever’s alive in you, my books are open at £11 for a 1-hour session with me. That may involve reflective listening and various breathing practices; astrology and Human Design, and conscious connected breathwork.
You can find more info through the link below.
And so it is, the year of uncomfortable growth simply keeps on giving.
But really, the discomfort is offering so much liberation. I keep feeling how my capacity for safety in my body in situations that would have earlier this year made me wanna run the other way is slowly growing and stretching out. Using my voice has become easier. Being visible has become easier, and less judgemental on my part.
I would have never in a million years foreseen myself sitting in a Zoom room with a camera on and holding space for 216 fellow beings. And yet that is exactly what I did today. And you know what…there is something incredible that happens when we show up as we are and choose to all breathe together, breathe into our wildest dreams.
There is also something magical about just saying “F*ck it!” and going for our wildest dreams.
Wherever you are on your untrodden path, know, you are not alone. Know that I am right there beside you cheering you on, breathing courage onto your path so that you can reach out and dream into being your wildest dreams. No matter how crazy they sound to yourself or the people around you.
But these are YOUR dreams and they matter. Just like you.
Sending you a beautiful deep breath for the holiday season, whatever you’re celebrating. And know, it is OK to take a moment for yourself. And don’t forget to breathe!
Sending you lots of love and a deep breath,
Silvia
*I’ve rediscovered fiction recently after a year of having read mostly non-fiction. The break is welcomed. I don’t know if it’s the dark of the winter but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed some dark, moody, and magical reads. First off, The Cloisters by Katy Hays. Then Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young. And my most recent read has been Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman.
*Frosty mornings.
*Twinkly lights everywhere.
*Beautiful sunrises on the morning commute.
*Chocolate muffins. I’ve played around with a few variations using this recipe as the foundation. Adding a bit of orange zest is delicious.
*Cesar Millan’s Better Human. Better Dog. series is sooooo good. I don’t yet have a dog but I am learning so much. And Cesar is just plain and simple COOL.
*Speaking of dogs, I stumbled on Rocky Kanaka’s channel on YouTube and this video got to me. Spoiler alert: there’s a happy ending!
*Another interesting watch recently has been Jury Duty.
Celebrating you on these new offerings! They sound so beautiful and nourishing and I can feel they are setting your soul on fire. Xx
I've been listening to Dune on audiobook and generally being a hermit. I'm taking this month to rest and I'm not writing, but my brain and body need a breather. Pun intended!
I might take you up on your offerings 💞
